Disco Biscuits
Spawned from the rich music scene in Philadelphia, The Disco Biscuits have risen to the upper echelon of the jam/groove scene by offering an intense fusion of rock, techno, jazz, blues and classical music. Consisting of Jon Gutwillig (guitar), Marc Brownstein, (bass), Allen Aucoin (drums) and Aaron Magner (keyboards) their highly danceable style has been dubbed "Trance Fusion". Known widely for their adeptness at starting a dance party, the Disco Biscuits are not shy about inserting a classical piece into the middle of an extended rock jam. The groups catalog of songs is written for the live show and in turn a studio album results; this is the opposite approach of how many recording artists develop their material. The group is also well-known for their ability to run long sets together, sometimes even playing their songs backwards, in styles referred to as "inverted" and "dyslexic." An inverted version of a song occurs when the band starts a song by playing its ending segment, followed immediately by its beginning segment and a jam that segues out of that song and into another. The Disco Biscuits are back on the road for their first full tour in more than three years and are supporting their newest live release "The Wind at Four to Fly".
